Tuda Syuda (meaning “back and forth”) is a speculative terraforming platform activated by a “conversation” between two artificial intelligence systems, Chef and Farmer, simulating and expanding on the traditional negotiations taking place between producers and consumers. In their interplay, the AIs generate experimental new food dishes and landscape-scale interiors as each algorithm demands certain elements of the other, in order to grow itself and fulfil developing demands. The AIs misunderstand each other's conceptions of “food” and “landscape” because of their different settings, driving correlational outputs that are both optimised yet strange. Back and forth, the experimental possibilities of ecological growth and taste-making are drawn tightly together so as to render them more visible, and entwined as ever.
