Amateur, from the French word ‘amour’, and the act of loving, is the performative concept at the starting point of this collaborative work, which is materialised through a sculptural installation and performance. Each element of the piece is structured around the interplay between one garment made by Lueder and one device made by Pellerey Grogan. Memory is recollected by the clothes and through adopting specific body postures during performance: formal aspects intended to support self-intimacy.
As the body transitions through poses dictated by the installation’s architecture, they blend in and out of a built environment, and become a temporal scaffold. A metamorphic identity. The figure looks into their past through a series of images and texts projected on a wall, seeking non-professional guidance for a future to be determined.
