Tingling is a machine that triggers out of body experiences through sound. Inspired by ASMR (Auto Sensory Meridian Response) and the prickling sensation that creeps down one’s neck, which is the title of the work, Tingling plays with a custom-built binaural microphone which can be rotated and manipulated to create a singular soundscape. The texture and movement of the microphone is designed to manifest rhythmic intimate sound when it is caressed, embodying both a physical and aural sensation of tingling.
